Movere Services
a comprehensive approach to getting you back to yourself
Trigger Point Dry Needling
A very small, dry, monofilament needle (no medicine) is inserted into a single trigger point or along the path of a hypertonic muscle, eliciting a "twitch." This is the muscle maximally contracting, which fatigues the order giver - acetylcholine - allowing muscle relaxation (myosin and actin crossbridge release.)
Manual Therapy
Did you know research indicates that the best physical therapy outcomes are with a combination approach? Many great clinicians have developed multiple treatment options that may help your rehabilitation go a little faster! We may utilize Mulligan, Weismantle, Paris, Maitland or one of many other techniques. Most likely, we'll use a combination of several!
EXERCISE & MOVEMENT
There should never be a cookie cutter exercise program given to patients (except following a few specific surgeries). Your exercises will be taylored to your current physical capacity and ability.
Modalities
Sometimes, modalities such as these can calm central nervous system firing and allow relaxation of pain receptors. A relaxing modality may also decrease cortisol levels - calming stress - and further decrease the perception of pain.
Patient Education
One of my most important jobs is educating you on pathology and anatomy, potential causative factors and options to correct this in the future. When given quality information, patients are able to drive their success!
